A seizure is an abnormal electrical activity in the brain, which spreads to different parts of the brain, causing jerks in one side of the body, sudden distortion of vision, or strange sounds. Epilepsy is a neurological disorder in which the patient suffers from an abnormal electrical activity, causing seizures and loss of consciousness.

Dr. Harirama K Acharya, Senior Consultant Neurology and Clinical Director at Narayana Health City, Bangalore, shared the difference between Seizures and Epilepsy. According to the doctor, Epilepsy is a disorder, and Seizure is a common condition which may occur due to sudden triggering.
