Klassic 80's Metal - Made In Japan 🤘🤘

From 'Thunder In The East' album.

M.Z.A.
Vocalist Minoru Niihara: "Actually it does not have any meaning. When we were doing pre-production for the Thunder in the East album, I did not have any lyrics for Crazy Night then, so I sung total nonsense as a guide vocal for the demo recording. I sung 'M.Z.A' by accident and the producer Max Norman liked the line, even though that did not have any meaning. We were trying to create some cool line but we could not beat 'M.Z.A'. Max ended up deciding to use 'M.Z.A' for the real take".

As a 55-year-old American Southern rocker who grew up in the '80s heavy metal hair band era if that's what you want to call it.
This was one of my favorite bands.
My friends at the time did not get into them but I instantly knew they were badass.

Ah, Loudness. They opened for Poison in Denver in 1986 and I will never forget it - crunchy guitar, phonetic vocals, and "Herro, Denbah!". Super fun show and these guys were so underrated. Man I miss the 80's, spandex, big hair and all.

I was working back stage at the Forum in 1986 for the Motley Crue "theater of Pain" tour. Loudness opened for them and literally made the Crue look bad. The crowd loved them. They were my favorite band at the time and had seen them a few times prior. They absolutely rock.

One of the nastiest riffs ever. No wonder this is one of Phil Demmel’s favorite albums. Makes total sense.

I literally "Found" this band. Was in an Arcade in the 80's saw a cassette tape on the floor, unopened. I picked it up, it said Loudness, Thunder in the East. My introduction to Japanese Rock.

Akira is one of the greatest underrated metal guitarists out there. Shame they didn't get over to the UK much.

Its 2024 and this song still makes me smile. 17 years ago I was a young IT worker in a corporate office building. Youtube was still kind of new back then. One of our engineers come in and said "you guys have got to hear this song! Its called 'Wock & Woll Cwazy Nights!" We all Youtubed it instantly and it became an Office hit! We all learned the lyrics and would just bust out out laughing when somebody would make a comment about it throughout the day. It's actually a good tune.

When i first heard this song my mouth dropped wide open! The tone this guy had was insane! The harmonics incorporated into the power chords was a one of a kind sound. They were definitely influenced by motley crue and van halen. This band is so underrated its not funny. Nobody sounded like them. Total innovators of the metal scene. The guitar player is amazing on all of their songs.

I love this song and Hey! Hey! Hey! My group Wizard played with these guys at Keystone Berkeley in 1984. Good times!

Akira's style is so hard.. (i dont mean 'hard' as in 'not easy'..i mean he plays it very hard and thick. So aggresive. All the hammer on and pull offs, so full of anger..) this guy is a true metal guitarist.

I’ve replayed the first 20 seconds of this song like 100 times now. That riff is so nasty
