Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg apologized to the families of children who suffered abuse on social media platforms during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on Wednesday.

“I’m sorry for everything you’ve all gone through,” Mr Zuckerberg said, turning to audience members holding up pictures of their loved ones. “Nobody should have to go through what your families have suffered. This is why we have invested so much and are going to continue industry-leading efforts to make sure that no one has to go through the types of things your families have suffered.”

Why can't we grill politicians just like Mark was grilled?!

Once a child gets a hold of having a phone, they are exposed to literally anything in the world, there are so many unlocked doors to inappropriate content, traumitizing pictures or videos, and sadly etc.

It's easier to blame someone for your tragedy than yourself.

The problem is not with the platform; it is with the misuse of it.

The CEO Billionaires are in no way liable or responsible for your kids, as parents you have clearly failed to teach your children good habits while you were chugging on weekends and cheating on your spouses

Blame the parents for letting their kids spend countless hours online.

Blame the parents for not teaching their children better. Hold them accountable too

An apology today means absolutely nothing - you can hear it in those 'words.'

Ya buddy, social media will be the downfall of society

Bullying existed before social media was created.

It’s the people that use it that are the problem, not the platform itself

This is crazy. He has to take sole responsibility for what people are choosing to post and what parents allow their kids to use? And on top of that not letting him defend himself whatsoever. Looks all for show just like the rest of the government nowadays.

Social media fucks up adults as much as children.

Actually it's not a Mark problem, it's problem parents and GOVERMENT. Mark give freedom to call, message and conversation but how it use it deponds on people.

you know when you buy cigarettes in singapore, they show you the disgusting health effects?
Social media should have that imagery, every time you post something and every time you browse the app for 30 minutes. A mental health warning appears.

This is Wrong Hawley should be fired he doesn't let Mark reply, it is the parents fault not Marks and to tell him to personally compensate families is crazy

Parents NEED to stop blaming tech companies and celebrities for their children’s bad behaviour. They’re your children not theirs, your children are your responsibility nobody else’s.

There is something called PARENTING!
