The irony is, the Ghastly Gibus is a hat you primarily obtain through an achievement. I.E. being good. Or at least lucky.

People always say hats are useless and stuff like that but actually we do the same thing in real life, for example we buy nice clothes for the job interview or we buy a nice car to get girls. People always cared about cosmetics, the nicer they were the richer/higher you are in society

Nah, the Ghastlier Gibus is the default fashion the Gibus comes in (at least it was for me)

The TRUE Logic of TF2: If you have a hat then it shows you have an idea about what you are doing, seeing as hats are either bought, or dropped under some rare circumstance.

The gibus everyone complains about is a Free to Play hat, it is easily obtained and is not as respected as the other hats due to it's look and the people whom wear it.
