Great sound on this one. Underrated 80s jam.

If a song can truly sound like a film, and a film can truly reflect a song… this is it. One of the great movies… the casting is brilliant, the tension crackling. Opening the film with this classic perfectly sets the tone.

I don't know how I never heard this song before, I moved to Los Angeles in 1985 when the song came out, to pursue my dreams And my life, and I've lived here ever since, I've lived and I will die in LA.

RIP movie director William Friedkin. 😢

This is one of those hits where the Billboard charts don't tell the whole story. It got heavy radio airplay and was in constant rotation on MTV, and so it felt like just as big a hit as "Dance Hall Days" at the time.

I find the title track to be ironic with how Los Angeles is today: 2021 .
