Awesome. Can't help thinking when I hear all this how such an incredible guitar player/shredder/guru as Eddie Van Halen was self taught and in addition, learned so many instruments! He was an instinctive guitar player to the highest degree, knew really nothing about theroy, and shot it into the stratosphere! Still amazed when I hear "eruption"

Some of the greatest guitar players never knew theory, and couldn't read a note. Two that come to mind are Reggie Young, a studio guitarist that played the lick on Suspicious minds, and in the Getty. And another is James Burton, who said they handed him a sheet of music in the studio and he said Whats this? I can't read that crap! Let's play the song!

When improvising over a progression.

Is it good practice to target the notes in the scale that correspond to the current chord in the progression?

Also are you able to switch scales as chords switch if you target the root note in the chord.. or does this just make for something chaotic sounding.

I think it will work just.. I am pretty new to musical theory and trying to understand the different ways you can harmonize.

Really want to pay for your classes but I am absolutely broke. So its the youtube videos and livestreams for me.

Love your videos, but it drives me crazy that you pronounce the word roots as ruts. Where are you from?

Did you say A minor was the same as C major? I'm confused.

It's more like showing your talent than giving a lesson. May be it can help the experts but not for intermediate players
