Happy Thanksgiving from snowy Colorado. You said on another video that some of your chickens are getting pretty old, and I think I can see that in some of their faces and bodies. But no matter what, your chickens have to be the luckiest in the world to live in such an environment. And we are lucky to go along for even a small part of the ride. Thank you.

Somehow this reminded me of the first time my chickens saw the snow. They all stood inside the door of the coop, discussing this frightful event among themselves. At first, even a generous amount of scratch couldn't tempt them out. Later, they would venture just outside the coop (onto our deck) and, spotting a green spot on the lawn (septic!), they decided to fly from the deck about 8 feet to the grassy spot, one by one. Apparently it requires a loud screech to fly 8 feet and try to keep your feet dry. Later that winter, they went up our steep hill to dust bathe, and when it snowed, I had to go carry them down to get them back in the coop. Silly chickies.
