The first Dollar General store was actually in Springfield, KY. Just down east main street from the Scottsville Square store is the original JL Turner warehouse that serviced the early DG stores and where the burgeoning company was ran from. Dollar General was operated out of Allen County KY until the late 1980's when the executive offices were moved to the West End of Nashville. The administrative offices remained in Allen County until the late 1990s when they were joined with the executive offices at the new corporate headquarters in Goodlettsville, TN.

It is worth a video on the history of Dollar General. Lots of funny stories floating around about the early days.

Scottsville is the Birthplace of Dollar General...That Dollar General on the square is the OG...Cal Turner founder of DG lived just down the street.
That Store has 2 floors...When I was a kid they always had free popcorn downstairs...
The Distribution center is in Scottsville but headquarters moved to Goodlettsville Tennessee in the late 90s

That's a great little town live there back in 98 what I love most was their sonic restaurant down the road Taurus food Lion I forgot the name of the road it's been awhile anyhow let me just say I did love it there

you mentioned Dollar General. I thought Corp headquaters for DG was in Allen county?
