Girl this unlocked a memory that was TUCKED away and I mean TUCKED AWAY FOR A REASON! I used to do this as a kid 😫😫😫😫 I would ask for people's coats as they walked in and they would go "oh! How polite this little girl is! Wow!" And then I would WEAR THE DAMN THING AND RUMMAGE THROUGH THE POCKETS FOR CANDIES 😂 I was a weird ass kid

Knowing this happened in real life makes me violently uncomfortable. As someone with only child syndrome (aka I’m weird about my stuff). The second they went to try it on I would’ve immediately said “oh no I’m so sorry I’m not comfortable in sharing my clothes can I have that back now please?” And I would’ve held out my hand and expected it back immediately. If for some reason it got to the “can I keep this” I would’ve laughed and said “no absolutely not no but here is where I bought it so you can get your own, I’ll take mine back now thanks”.

When I was four years old my parents put our house on the market. People came by look at the house and one day this family with a daughter came to look at it. I remember she had a stripped dress like a candy cane on and blond hair. She ran into our playroom, scooped up an ARM full of our stuffed animals including two of my favorite dogs that I slept with. She told me she was taking them home. When I say I felt she was kidnapping my children, that’s an understatement!! She packed them around until her parents were ready to leave. She tried to walk out the door with them and my mom stopped her. The other mom told the daughter to put them back and this kid lost her mind. Screaming and crying and begging her mom to keep one. My mom took all the toys back and I actually almost cried I was so relieved. It still haunts me as you can tell…
