This now classic folk song, "500 Miles", written by American folksinger and songwriter. Hedy West in 1961, was recorded by Peter, Paul and Mary as part of their first album, Peter, Paul and Mary, released May 1962 on Warner Bros. Records. The album which reached number 1 on the Billboard 200 chart is available on CD on the Warner Off Roster label. I do not own the right to the song, audio, or images contained in this video. This group was an anti-war protest group of the 1960s. They were protesting the Vietnam War. Many of their songs were directed at that war. I love this group and I fought in that war. Their songs bring me to tears.

Just read that Peter Yarrow has passed away from bladder cancer today the 7th of January 2025. That leaves only Paul Stookey alive as Mary Travers died a few years ago. Rest his soul...😔 Love the music of Peter, Paul & Mary. Paul wrote the "Wedding Song (There Is Love) for Peter's marriage some years ago in Minnesota. Peter co-wrote, "Pull the Magic Dragon".
