In today's tutorial I'll be demonstrating how to design a vector drone logo.

This tutorial is for Inkscape version 0.92 and is intended to teach beginners how to use the software. Inkscape is a great free alternative to Illustrator and Corel Draw.

Here's all of the software and hardware I use to make these videos:

Nick, you make some of the most useful, cleanest, clearest tutorials I've encountered. No nonsense or padding - just the facts. I like 'em!

Watching your vids from way back till now, production-value is def on the rise. They're always helpful, but looking real polished. Nice!

Excellent video as always, thanks. Liked the use of the stars & polygons tool to create the drone body. Another way of creating movement arcs around propellers would be to duplicate propeller circle, resize, then reactivate the ellipses tool (press e) and create arcs instead of full circles (holding down ctrl to adjust in 15 degree increments).

Another great tutorial. I like the way you solve design problems in Inscape. You have a very logical approach.

I found another way to duplicate the original propeller: grouping in a single object, then moving the rotation center to the center of the drone shape (with snap), finally duplicating and rotating each time of 90/180/270 degrees.
Thank for your tutorials!

That "Cut Path" option it's actually for stroke, i think it's the only one option that works on stroke and keep them with same settings

Hi Nick, you know the rotate copies LPE in 0.92? Is perfect for this logo.

Hi Nick, another excellent tutorial. I notice that you often make a point of setting rounded corners/rounded cap on objects when they are a closed shape (like the drone body here). I understand why you do that when you are going to cut the path etc. but is there a reason you do it on closed shapes or is it just habit in case you cut the path later?
Keep up the great work!

I was wondering why are you using "cut path" instead of "intersection", it seems that it would be faster to me.
