The donor Honda K20a Engine is ready for our Kswap on our Mr2 Spyder... The next step is now to remove the engine in the Mr2. In my case, the car has already been 2zz swapped, so I will show you how to remove an engine, from your home garage without a hoist/lift! ENJOY and don't forget to Add me on Insta: @jesse_yaroo

Enjoy the video!

Disclaimer, this video has a bit more humour/goofiness than usual. Forgive me (us)! If you attempt to do these jobs yourself, make sure to stay safe and don't neglect security aspects.

Although I am sure some of my viewers are mechanics or professionals in the Automotive field, I am pretty sure most of you guys are DIY fans that like to do your engine swaps and modifications yourself. I.e. from the comfort of your home garage.

This video will show you one of many different ways to remove an engine easily from your Toyota Mr2 Spyder (Mr-s, zzw30) WITHOUT using a hoist (Lift). It actually is surprisingly easy. Let me walk you through the process.

0.00: Intro
1:02 What tools are needed?
1:36 Step 1: Jack up your car
1:59 Remove Auxiliaries around the engine (intake, battery, cables, hoses, etc.)
2:31 Remove electrical harness from inside the car
4:47 Remove the whole exhaust
5:23 Empty all fluids (Oils, collant)
6:12 Remove all Suspension arms and drive shafts connected to hubs
6:45 Remove all supporting nuts to the subframe by holding the engine with the crane
9:00 Lower engine with crane onto palett
9:33 Lift up the whole car with the crane
10:25 Engine removal from the bottom
13:58 Final Conclusion

Thank you very much for watching. A like, a sub, a share is always appreciated!

Jesse, removing the rear crash bar is only 4 bolts and gives you a lot more room. The rear crossember is also only 4 bolts. Last, you can drop the engine onto a furniture dolly or even a piece of cardboard to reduce the need to lift the car very much. Doing this eliminates the need for a hoist (what your refer to as a crane) at all…you can use a transverse engine support bar and lower the engine and tranny using ratchet straps or a floor jack. Orienting the engine longitudinally allows it to slide ride out the back with the car just above normal ride height. Much safer than lifting the car.

i do not understand why some people change the 2zzge with k20. has nothing to jealous of him, except if you go for dragster! there yes! It has other solutions but it is also more expensive! afterward with oil pan and oil sump you can tear the 2zzge without any fear, both very reliable and good engines (I also have ep3 typer and corolla tsport) Anyway great video mate!

What swap mounts did you purchase for the k-swap? The map mounts utilizing the stock mounting points seem interesting.
