The first time I watched this documentary is when I was a sophomore at college. Since then, every time I wear down and feel exhausted because of the rat race of city life, I watch this documentary again and again, It helps ease my mind. I wish someday, I will have a chance to visit Satoyama. hopefully!

01:37 'This is a land that has been touched by people, yet the people tread lightly upon it.' A poetic and perfect summary of what the satoyama is.

I think a lot of countries with polluted rivers and polluted nature should learn from Satoyama. it is so very refreshing watching this.

There will never be another Sir David Attenborough! He truly has the golden voice! I love that he is still doing these documentaries on BBC! I love Planet Earth HD.

I added this to my watch list years ago and now I'm in tears on how beautifully narrated this is. How fragile the life of these creatures are but they still keep living. This documentary teaches us to be more compassionate to all living creatures and live in harmony with the natural world. Aaah I can't even describe exactly how I feel after watching this gem

This was beautiful and so very educational. The sequencing of the lives of all the insects, , and the rice, was amazing and wonderful way to teach, or remind us of mans relationship with nature.

Watching this again. My 5th time. I just enjoy the sceneries and the calmness. So serene. Brings peace to my heart and mind. It reminds me of my childhood and how simple and pure life was then.

It is now March 2020 and, as the spectre of coronavirus makes so many people ill and fills others with fear, this lovely documentary has such a healing, calming effect on the spirit...
