7-year-old Isadora Rose was exploring a lake when she made quite the discovery - a high-school ring with a red ruby stone. It was from McClusky High School, class of 1982, and had engravings suggesting it belonged to a baseball player. Mom Robin Rose put on her detective hat, and within a few hours, she had an answer. Turns out, it was Kerry Helm’s, who was a star baseball player. He was having his graduation party by the lake and the ring slipped off. But then the story took a bittersweet turn.

I’m glad his wife was able to get the ring and have another memento of him.

That's one quality ring, not tarnished or damaged at all

This is precious. We never really know about the things we left behind.

I read this story once about someone buying an old book from an antique store, not thinking much of it. They opened the book, and on the cover it was written "For my dearest Mabel, Merry Christmas 1912".

Idk why but seeing how physical things live past the lives of their owners seems so poetic to me.

It's a great thing that everything and everyone can be connected through social media. A ring found by a child opened a door to someone's past.

Such a sad and beautiful story. She will feel more at ease now that she has her husband's ring. A true sign... I believe in that! ♥️

Need more good stories much as this. A lot of people wouldn't give it back or even look for the person. Raising this girl well. Inspiration for sure

I believe it is a message from her husband beyond the grave. She must still be suffering and he made sure that ring showed up when it did to let her know he isn't lost and is watching over her.

I lost my 1989 class ring in Big Bend National Park in 1991 or 1993. Here’s hoping I’m reunited with it someday. :)

That is such a sweet story. The little girl was at the right place at the right time. 😁 Precious Child.

It must’ve been such a cool feeling to find hidden treasure but it’s so sad he died before he could get it back, imagine how it haunted him.

Somebody at Inside Edition needs to be fired for these half-assed titles. 🤦‍♂️

I lost my class ring one day riding our Harley. I pointed at something and it flew off. Highway so no going back. I thought about it for a few months. The ONLY time I think about it now is when stories like these come around.

Yes it would be nice to get it back. No it does not haunt me. No I am never sad that I lost it. I do not expect that one of my last thoughts will be about any lost ring. Losing that ring did not change my life in any way.

This is a bittersweet story that his widow will cherish but losing his ring was not something he missed.
