Shot from Harvard LSM Jack Breit breaks through the goalie's pocket

Harvard long stick midfielder Jack Breit shoots during a fast break and scores when the ball breaks through the pocket of the goalie. I'm not entirely sure what part actually breaks, but I believe that it's the sidewall rather than the mesh.

As a lacrosse goalie I can say that this isn't that uncommon. His main mesh (the white weave, net part) didn't break. There's a small thin white string at the "throat" of the head of the stick near the goalie's top hand that keeps the white net attached. This string breaks fairly often and allows the ball to slide under the netting and right over the top of your hand. T he ball will go right behind you. It really sucks when it happens lmao. A lot of goalies I've met will use zip ties for added security.

To all the "no goal"ers:
It was the sidewall string that broke, which was probably super worn out and maybe already broken. I honestly don''t think companys are going to bother with making Graphene reinforced, military grade parachute level strings or whatever (ECD Project Beta????). I guess manafacturers are relying on the players judgement that a string needs to be replaced. Also, goalies should always make sure to keep good care of their sticks, use double shooter bottom strings, zip ties even, etc. It was a hard shot, but not the hardest even in lacrosse. So it's a goal, and the rules say so too.
But honestly, I feel sorry for that goalie. Tough luck man!
