Now imagine waiting for two years for the next season to come out. All the fans went completely insane crafting theories for how he survived. He definitely jumped off the roof. And the body on the ground didn't have a pulse. So how! We were obsessed.

I loved the transition from calling him "Watson" to calling him "John".

I cannot stress enough how hard it was to wait for TWO YEARS for season three to come out... the ultimate cliff hanger.

I read somewhere once that there were scenes where John Watson was supposed to have dialogue, but Martin Freeman just said “oh, I’ll just do that with a look” And it works! Martin Freeman is just so good in this role!!

My one issue with this show was that when Irene asked "Do you expect me to beg?" and Sherlock says "Yes", he didn't add "Twice." Such a missed opportunity.

Man can Martin Freeman sell it.
Funny note; in the book version of this the author did intend to kill off Sherlock Holmes as he'd got sick of writing him but he got so much hatemail that he brought him back.

Girl, your tears are not on vain. The first three times I watched this episode, I always cried at Sherlock's fall. Not because he died (I knew he wasn't really dead), but because John thought he was dead. Because John was grieving, and I was grieving for him. 😢

Scandal in Belgravia is easily my favourite episode of the series. The back and forth between Holmes and Adler is perfection.

Martin freeman is a great actor in my opinion. That last bit at the grave just radiated the right emotions to me.

Andrew scott plays this character so insanely well. Watching this series as it came out was so incredible. Every character was so good.

Andrew Scott as Jim Moriarty is very great choice.. I'm suggesting u too to watch "Fleabag", u will see another great acting by Andrew which is the quiet opposite character he acted in Sherlock series..
Awesome reaction btw as always 💯

seeing natalie actually being one step ahead of sherlock in figuring out the baskerville case in the second episode was actually pretty impressive.

Not only did this put Benedict on the map but it also made Martin a serious actor and certainly a household name. He is so understated in his acting, he is phenomenal.

Fun fact: Steven Fry was slated to play House's brother ala Mycroft. Scheduling did not permit and he wound up with a cameo as a different character BUT he did play Mycroft Holmes in Robert Downey Jr's version of Holmes.

Molly may not get as much screen time, but Louise Brealey's portrayal of her really shined through, in my opinion. She actually became one of my faves, not just in the show, but a favorite character just in general. I believe she was actually written in just to be a one off character, mostly as a way to introduce Sherlock, but the show runner's loved Brealey so much that they continued to write her in. It's lovely to see her grow throughout the series, even in little ways!

this is easily my favorite season out of the entire show. each episode is bang on. fun fact: Arthur Conan Doyle (the author of the original books) did eventually get fed up with pumping out new sherlock stories. He felt it limited him as an author and so he tried to move on. The Final Problem was the last story he wrote, in which Sherlock and Moriarty jumped off a cliff to their deaths together… but by then the Sherlock fandom circa ~1890s was so strong that they quite literally did not accept that ending. They were hysterical and protested, wrote letters and cancelled their subscriptions and basically forced ACD to bring Sherlock back to life and keep writing stories. It was bonkers. Nowadays it’s so stereotypical to do the main character death fake-out, but in this case, the episode is truly just an iconic reference to a well loved character.

The first episode of this season ranks as one of my favorite episodes of any show ever. All of the twists and double-crosses are so wonderful and clever and the acting is so wonderful throughout.
