Absolutely true. Same is true for hotels. Risky but if wait until a couple days before check-in.... worth it! These airlines want butts in seats. As long as several people are not trying for them then it drops dramatically.

That’s not true. Smart pricing increases the fares for every remaining seat. I experienced this recently in the same scenario where I paid twice what the first person paid in a group of four because the seats selling ahead repriced my fare.

This is risky though because there is a chance availability will run out before you can book all 4 tickets. I have opened two browsers before though and bought two tickets simultaneously.

yes but the issue is that they could change the seats so one person is way in the front, 2 are in front of the front bathroom and one is all the way in the back. this happened to me and my family.

Tried this with my girlfriend once and low and behold the airline ofcourse fucked everything up and we ended up on flights from completely different airports on different days
