This is the beginning of doing a full detail, paint correction and ceramic coating on my 2015 C7 Z06. I will have a full series of videos on this project as well as a few experiments I am doing on this car with the biggest one being a 19 way rim protection test.

In this video I washed, used iron remover and clayed before drying off. I washed using purple power pressure washer concentrate and my ultimate multi mitt wash kit to minimize the amount of contamination I was dragging on the paint. I used Meguair's iron decon to remove any iron particles on the surface, which I nearly let dry on the roof, because I mistakenly assumed it wouldn't be as hot as it was, but luckily caught it. Then I clayed with a nanoskin pad and some glide clay lube. Lastly I dried off with my Griot's PFM towel. I also was going to use my Milwaukee Tool blower, but forgot then battery was nearly dead. My bad. Next up will be prepping for paint correction and cleaning the wheel wells/calipers with the wheels off on the lift.

Follow us on:

I use different color buckets to prevent mixing up the used vs the clean mitts. Red for wash, black for used.

You used three mitts in the beginning and put them in the empty bucket. Then on the 4th mitt you went back to the bucket with the used mitts and used the used ones again. I guess you forgot which bucket had the used mitts vs the clean mitts. Lol I guess it’s alright since you will be polishing it... It makes me wonder, maybe we do need to label the wash/rinse buckets.
