If you’ve been following this channel you know we love to sift through Beatles outtakes and reimagine lost gems. For our Season 2 premiere, we’re digging up a little-known Beatles jam some fans call ‘Pillow For Your Head'. It’s a beautiful piece of music but the sound quality is ROUGH. I know what you’re thinking - Uh oh, they’re already robbing sacred graves and now they’re bringing the unholy AI into the mix?! But, isn’t AI just another tool? If The Beatles are using it, could we also use it to bring 'Pillow for Your Head' to life? Could it be done in an artistic way where the technology is at the service of the artist? All of this really came together for me when I found this guy on YouTube who’s making me rethink the ways AI can be used by musicians and the role it might play in Beatles music. Subscribe and let us know what you think in the comments.

I’d love hear Paul’s last few albums AI’d using his 1966 voice

Being from Liverpool and being a Beatles fan since the 80s I fully support this work!!! It’s absolutely amazing to hear these unfinished songs, I feel blessed to hear songs like this and chasing rainbows using AI.

This is truly beautiful. Those strings being used too. Absolutely epic. Can you imagine having John on the 'in my lonely room' part...beautiful. Well done guys. Nailed another one

This is a wonderful song. "Paul's" vocals are so like him. It actually brought tears to my eyes. I think your venture to create songs from the bits the Beatles left to us using AI is a totally worthy one.

It's a simple answer to the question on the thumbnail.
No.
Our society has lost all sense of ethics and embraces mediocrity. They crave immediate satisfaction.
So when someone like me tries to explain why AI is being misused, it just causes their heads to explode.
There are very few people left with my point of view. It's why customer service no longer exists, quality of our products have gone down, it's why most of our population is overweight or obese, it's why a large portion of our society self mutilates, etc.
So AI will persist and grow and no one will be able to tell what's real or fake. Including speeches from our leaders.
But as long as TikTok, Netflix, Twitter and all keeps everyone distracted it doesn't matter.

I'm an old Beatles collector and great fan of the Beatles. I consider myself to be open minded, so this is truly exiting for me. Now, I have sifted thru hours of Get Back material and I'm still discovering little oddities. Amazing you and others are able to bring forth these beautiful lost songs and give us something new. I feel that there are unreleased songs that are still sitting in the vaults... Great work. Thanks. J

It's not exactly a Beatles song, of course, but it's a lovely song forged from Beatles-created fragments. The strength and beauty of the original shards, coupled with the musical talent and loving care you all bring to the project, means the result is nothing short of magic.

To be clear, the only use of ai in Now And Then was to remove the piano accompaniment from John Lennon’s voice. Very little has been done to that tape after isolating his voice, the less than stellar quality of his singing is testimony to that. The rest of the song is adding George’s guitar parts recorded 30 years ago and new accompaniment and backing vocals. In fact, it was not much different from how recordings were, and are still being made. You come in, play or sing your part and it is all mixed by the producer. The only difference hare is that the performers are not only distanced by space but also by decades of time. This is still and most certainly the last ever Beatles song where all four of them are involved in the making. The grand finale to a most incredible ride.

Working closely with Brett on Pillow For Your Head was great fun. I was already a fan of Almost Beatle Songs - as any serious Beatle fan should be ! - so I knew there was something really interesting coming my way when he got in touch with me. It's amazing to see it all finally come together!
Bravo to everyone involved in this great project. Another awesome, respectful creative excercise and tribute to the Beatles immense body of work.

A nicely respectful effort.
Really does sound like Paul in the 70's / 80's.
I also love the "Train" style drum riff but I dont think Ringo would have played such an "American" style riff in his drummings. However, it fits rather well,
Nicely done, guys. Nicely done ! But, keep the respect in place. Thats what makes it "good".

When John Lennon's life was tragically cut short, I imagined a future where (with the help of computers) the musical genius of the Beatles could be revived. Surprisingly, a group of dedicated enthusiasts have exceeded my expectations. This is simply stunning. Hearing this finished song has been a pure joy, a testament to the enduring power of Beatles music.

i'm sorry - but this is SO GOOD. I work in the industry and I understand all the issues but at the end of the day - this is just a great piece of music - a wonderful little song...that just can't be denied, no matter how it was made.

I’m always a fan of AI for the sake of finishing or imagining finished versions of incomplete or uncompleted works. To make legacy artists sing new songs or sing other artists’ songs I think it feels gimmicky or cheap, though it’s kind of taken on a meme status on YouTube at this point. That being said, I’m not sure what the future of AI for commercial applications would be. The Now and Then single uses AI developed by Peter Jackson to extract and enhance elements from existing recordings rather than producing new data, so it’ll be interesting to hear how that sounds later this week after it was used to such an extent in the Get Back documentary.

Very beautiful piece. It is good to know that you are bringing to life what could have been by extending the artistry. Bravo.
