I’m a comic enthusiast and collector and this book has received a lot of hate from people in my circles. Here’s my opinion...the art is very well drawn and detailed, the story and dialogue is amazingly well written, and the conclusion just verifies what we’ve known all along. Superman is a hero without an equal, all he cared about were the people around him, not himself, and not his image. He gave his life to stop Doomsday and save all the people he cared about. I took them seriously and accepted the death of Superman(I agree the series got stupid after that) but that book is the only one to bring a tear to my eye-twice...when it pointed out the obvious fact that the Kents had lost their son, and when Lois said goodbye. Brilliant storytelling👍

Although I was busy not being alive when the comic came out I can just imagine everyone’s reaction to Superman dying
