Privatizing prisons is a bad move. Even privatizing the meal program in Michigan's Prisons was a nightmare. Green food, roaches, lawsuits ... Not good.

the best are the 'MISSING' memes on posters. they pics of their reps/senators in the missing person fashion. it's eff'n brilliant! i hear they been posting them around their towns too. "MISSING: have you see our senator or representative? if so please call or text" i find it worse if they don't stand up and answer the peoples questions

I am a grown man but when I see acts such as the Muslim/Jewish stories; the unfurling of the "Refugees Welcome" sign on the Statue of Liberty; how our veterans went to the aid and support of the Indians fighting the Dakota Pipeline; my eyes just well up with this tears. I'm not at the John Boehner level yet but, I ain't far from it!!! This is the America and United States that I know, love, and have been taught about. We are not evil people and I believe the overwhelming majority of us believe in kindness and helping our fellow man--did you see the gentleman out there with the cane marching in this clip? For some reason, all of us have sat idly by and have allowed this dark cloud to overtake our country and politics. Well, it hasn't won yet. Many of us are much older now but we still have a lot of fight left in us to fight for those ideals of this country that DO make us great!

We are further incensed in Iowa because our Governor and the Republican legislature just smashed our public unions. They did the same hit job on the public unions of Iowa as took place in Wisconsin. The effort was spearheaded by ALEC, Americans for Prosperity, and Iowa ABI. Thousands of people showed up in protest but too many of our officials received money from these groups. The same groups that provide support for Grassley and Ernst. The Iowa legislature is now attempting to pass and bill requiring that any new hires at places like the University of Iowa consider party affiliation only hire people who will balance the number of republicans and democrats at the University. The train is off the tracks in Iowa.
