It began in colonial America among houses of worship...an old method of singing, now preserved by people who believe in the timeless art of the music and message. When these folks gather for a singing in East Tennessee, there are no keyboards, no brass, no percussion... just human voices and a beloved songbook to guide them.

These singings are literally life-changing. One Old Harp singer, Cora Sweatt, tells us she has collected over 100 love letters exchanged by a teen couple who met at an old harp singing in the 1920s. When the couple could no longer stand to live in separate towns, they decided to marry...and eventually...became Cora's parents.

applause! as an aside. what would you think about chipping in at multi-track collaborations at Bandhub :) I oftentimes can record acoustic bass ... We could get together to give it a try! This will be great!
