In this video, I demonstrate the following:
1. What is the Modulator MIDI FX plugin?
2. What is the difference between an LFO and an Envelope?
3. Using the LFO and ENV modules for modulation effects.
4. How to learn MIDI CCs and plugin parameters as modulation targets.
5. How to create a sidechain ducking effect with the Modulator and Compressor.

Great video, thanks! 👍
I often use virtual guitars and always use the LFO modulation connected to Pitch Bend to create the vibrato, instead of writing the automation by hand. By varying the Rate and Output Level you can simulate slow or fast vibrato. Very comfortable! 😀

Fantastic! I’ve been trying to figure out how to get this effect on a guitar track. There it is! Thank-you!

.Now I know what a modulator does. I'll use this more often. Thanks for making this series.

HELL YES I WAS WAITING FOR THIS TO DROP 🎉❤ my entire workflow to make house music is about to be 50% midi fx

I have never used the Modulator. I guess now I know one more option for filter sweeps and other stuff like that. Thank you so much

Thanks again for the video.
A question: Is it possible to record as automation the variations on the ModWheel created by the Modulator's LFO?
It would be helpful to manually edit some parts.
✋Wait! I found the answer in one of your old videos "Record MIDI FX Output as MIDI" 😅
You gave me the answer even before I had the question! 😱🙏

Very interesting and very well explained. Really cool what you achieved in the strings and bass track with this Modulator. Nevertheless I think it would take me the rest of my life to learn and understand everything about LFOs and other filters. But this is a most interesting tutorial with a very, very good listening example. I think I should go through it 1:1 in Logic and see what my result would be without understanding this matter. Thank you. Very cool, this module!

I wish the LFO had a trigger by region or by bar option, I'd find that much more useful than Logic's trigger options. The vast majority of times I use the LFO, I end up having to go back and replace it with automation.

I love these modulators, but I am aware of the side chain hack for recorded audio. The other workaround I know of would be to set up a midi channel with audio inputs and record incoming audio. But I kind of wish you could send midi learn to any effect on the mixer and not just per track. I suppose you could send it to a sampler.

I think the Modulator needs an update. It could have an MSEG and an enveloppe follower (via side-chain). Each modulator could be assigned to several parameters at the same time (way more convenient than copy-pasting and inserting a new modulator). The LFO could have more waveforms (ramp up, when using the symmetry on the triangle wave, it starts in the middle and we can't change the phase). BTW a phase fader would be nice too. And the ENV to FLO rate could go way above 100%.
And make it available for audio tracks please !!

Unfortunately the LFO Modulation is remote and not a „real“ modulation. I hope Logic will implement real modulation possibilities in a future update.

they really need to update their midi fx. limited to 8 midi plugins!? that scratches the surface to building interesting patches. ableton and bitwig are miles ahead in terms of that. it starts with the plugin UI itself. all the midi plugins use so much unnecessary space, cant be linked or summed at all, parameters reset randomly. logic team 😭 cant even use it on audio tracks its really a joke ngl. amazing video like always tho :D
