Machine sewn applique is not as scary as you think. It is really fun and I think once you start you just might find you can't stop :) Hand sewing isn't for everyone, I do understand that, but I enjoy hand sewing blanket stitch around each applique, but they can be machined if not.

Becca, there are times I'll see a block (pieced or applique') that I really want to try- but I don't really want to make a whole quilt. So I'll make 1-4 blocks and make a candle mat or a table topper or a mug mat. Perhaps that would be a way for you to give appliquing a try. Really like your unboxing- straight to the point without a lot of unnecessary gab! Thanks!

I’ve done a couple appliqué quilts. It’s not my favorite either. Lol. I’d much rather piece. FYI I just finished the quilt top I won from you!! The smitten log cabin kit. I freaking it. Thank you so much girl. I know it took me long enough huh?! 😂

I have done sampler quilts in which there is a block or two with applique. I don't mind doing it whatsoever. I would love to get "real applique shapes though instead of tracing paper though. What a beautiful box. I would subscribe to these more pricier boxes but just can't afford them. 🙄😭

If you're going to do fusible appliqué, invest in a light box. I got one a couple of weeks ago. $22 from Amazon (Litenergy).

I’m not an appliqué person myself, and the fabric wasn’t something I would pick out but there was definitely good value in that box. The modern box this month was my favorite so far but i didn’t enjoy last months so I guess it is always a toss up!

I do like the fabric even though it’s fat eights. Not a fan of appliqué, certainly would not make this quilt.
