Just a quick overview of the Redshift Sub Surface Scattering shader. First I'll show you you some render settings to consider and how to make IPR function correctly when using the shader, then we'll have a look at the shader's attributes and some simple settings to help your renders look good, finally we'll finish up the render with a texture map and some final adjustments.

So what's the difference between using the dedicated RS Subsurface material vs the SSS settings in the standard RS material?

Hi,
Thank you for the Redshfit Tutorials, there aren't that many around so I've been learning it on my own since I got my license, I have already used it for some commercial work a few months ago (3d Viz), and it is great. I was going to start diving into Maya Fluids with RS, if you have some time, could you do one on that topic? I know you have to use openvdb in order for RS to be able to render, but a step by step tutorial on the subject would be nice.

Hi, I'm currently working on a project in which I have some dandelions. Whenever I use subsurface scattering on the petals, there is a weird green hue in it, even though my subsurface scattering colors are yellow. I've tried different variations and the green is still there.. I know it's not the lights because the preview also has the green scattering around the edge of the sphere. Do you know why this might be happening? I also tried using the redshift material shader and the green doesn't happen with that but I'm still having a hard time getting the petals to look realistic.

for skins i recommend the rsSkinShader!! not the normal SSS shader.
