I agree with you about the review videos having a significant impact.. I don't have a lot of money to throw around buying different products and testing them myself.. so I go straight to you tube for research and try for the best bang for my limited bucks.. Your vids have been particularly helpful on the subject of axes, their care and maintenance, and the best ones that my money can afford... Bahco is legendary for their small folding saws, and I might have bought from them an axe not even thinking twice about it, but your videos have taught me otherwise... I hope they are sincere in their efforts to fixing the quality issue with their axe/s.. thanks again..

Wranglerstar, great video brother. This Bahco looks like, and seems to have acted the same as a Stihl woodsman axe I purchased a month ago. The edge bent to the side for about one inch of the sharpened cutting length, and the haft broke at the head. I took it back to the Stihl dealer here in Alamogordo, NM, and was given a replacement immediately. I love I'll retest the new axe this weekend and will update you and the Stihl dealer here upon my return.

I think it's fantastic that you use the power of your subscribers for the betterment of these sorts of things. Too often do you see people badmouthing a gadget because it doesn't have the latest this or that. It makes me smile to think that so many people are still interested in these sorts of products, the ones that produce callouses, not texting addictions.

Thanks for thus series. I have learned a lot about axes, how companies respond to YouTube and reviews that don't test the products they use. If Bacco responds and makes a better axe, I will buy one even if the price us higher. Have to support good companies.

I love this experiment and really appreciate how they said they want to test the steel or something on your axe....this is a copy of my letter to wranglerstar hatchet review
I'd wish to start by saying i've never had one of your products, but I'd love to see your company keep going and advance in sales one way i think this is possible is by making sure that your beautiful product can be used successfully ..and to do that i think you must reconsider the steel being used in your products ..ALL your products..!...with that said if you took your 20 dollar hatchet and made it a 35 or even 40 dollars product i'd buy one for sure assuming it can be trusted and used sucessfully for years to come ..i'd promote sales in my area and i live in the outskirts of new mexico in the mountains with many hundreds dare i say of local homesteaders much like myself ...I wish your cpmpany the best of luck..

I cut down a 50' tree with an axe that I sharpened. my chainsaw quit running and no matter what I tried I could not fix it, and I am a pretty good mechanic.
Your videos inspired me to do it the old fashioned way. it was very dangerous but I did everything to be as safe as could be managed, also because you alway stress safety in your videos, you are a swell guy and include Christian morals and values.

I think this was a great way to inform Bahco of the issues and it sounds like they will be proactive about investigating the problem.  Any company that truly cares about their products will seek to better them and improve.  As companies like Bahco often cater to small independent customers like us.

I know its been awhile, and I wouldn't buy a Bahco without hearing if they improved their steel, but its interesting everywhere I see them, their prices have been slashed from MSRP. Just saw the 16in hatchet with a MSRP of $47, marked down to $27. That's the absolute best thing about YouTube. It doesn't matter what I'm looking for....someone has reviewed it somewhere. I certainly hope that review impacted the quality of these axes, but I doubt it, and I'm gonna freakin pass. Thanks for the really honest review buddy.

I sent a comment to Bahco, since I have used their products in the past and been happy. I would have been upset with that product - if it can't handle green softwood like that, imagine how badly it would have failed on some decent eucalyptus trees here in Australia!

Bahco has been a quality driven company in my experience, at least when they were part of the SANDVIK family.  I was happy to see the reply from the Quality Assurance dept.  I think since they were purchased by Snap-On tools it is hard to say what sort of real customer service you will get on this.
