Why helping others makes us happy?
Why helping others is important?
Why true happiness comes from helping others?
What makes us truly happy?
Without social constraints one could argue that we'd become uncivil/savage. While there maybe some truth to that in some cases, it doesn't necessarily mean that we will lean towards acting that way. Because, nature has given us many gifts. Among which, something called the hepler's high. That is, the neurobiology of helping others. When we volunteer and help others, our brains literally reward us by releasing pleasure chemicals like serotonin, indorphine, oxytocin and dopamine. It's why people say that nothing gives them as much satisfaction as helping other people. It's why helping others is so important.

this is what I do and you described the "why" perfectly! A masters degree in psychology, have been studying neuroscience for 12 years...and you clearly and succinctly boiled it down into a 3 1/2 minute YT video! Brilliant! Of course it could be expanded, yes it is more involved...and you knew that, but you nailed it. I donate my time putting in flower beds, "fixing things", talking with lonely senior citizens...about 30 hours per week...I don't work out, I sleep well, even as I listen to their fears and pain, my sense of well-being is higher than I ever could have imagined...great video.
