Twenty years ago (with the help of some “hot” star power) Motorola reshaped humdrum mobile phones into design icons with the first RAZR. It’s spent the past five of those years reformulating that reinvention into the Razr 2024: a playful pocketable, clad in all the colors of the rainbow the bigger manufacturers keep (frustratingly) shying further away from. It's no exaggeration to call the new Razr two phones in one: a high-end Android flagship and a tiny minimalist phone, blended into a single foldable that reminds us that, oh right: technology can be (should be) fun!

In short: the 2024 Razr and Razr Plus are the antidote to every other phone.

Don't credit Motorola with the Pink Razr. The idea was that Razr was the "male" phone. Pebl was the "female" one, so the idea of a pink Razr went against the grain, but Charles Dunstone of Carphone Warehouse ordered 250, 000 Razrs in pink. I was at Motorola, we thought he was mad, and when he asked for an exclusive on pink we gave it to him. Bear in mind that the forecast for global Razr sales was 800, 000 units - well that's what the team told the portfolio committee. I later learned that they thought it would sell 300, 000. Carphone went on to sell 3 million pink Razrs ane we bought the rights to pink back from Carphone.

If Motorola put any actual effort into updating their software in a timely manner and improving their camera quality, they'd be a huge contender in the smartphone space.

Currently using a galaxy S10+, clinging on to my 3.5mm and SD card.

As a once moto x 2014 user, this razr feels like one of the few options that would be an upgrade beyond a spec sheet.
