My wife, Lilandra asked me to do this series, based on our first interaction--back when she was a creationist. I often say that phylogenetic taxonomy is the strongest argument for evolution. After we talked about a couple dozen clades, she was convinced, and suggested I do something similar for the public.
If you like what I do, please consider supporting my efforts.

I legitimately love this series. It might be the single most informative science series on YouTube

It's amazing that a group of these apes became so imaginative that it can deceive itself, pretend it's magical, and deny it's own lineage.

Mic drop ending, "...that humans literally are apes. And we own and control this world; do you know that that makes this? You can either accept this as a rational person, or you can reject this, and get outraged, and throw an emotional temper tantrum about it. But you'll only prove the point when we see you go ape."

This had me cracking up.

I would be much more interested if my biology lectures were like this and ended in old school metal

This is the most dedicated and in-depth look at biodiversity, on YouTube.
Love it

Aron Ra is an amazing taxonomist and an eloquent speaker.

Fun fact: humans are just as hairy as other apes, the hairs are just so short on most of our body that we appear naked by comparison.

Love watching this with my daughter. She calls your siries the 'science channel'. Thank you for your work.

One of my favorite things about AronRa is that he jumps right into the subject. Other videos and/or articles, I have to listen to, go through paragraphs or some sort of intro. With Aron you hit play, and it BEGINS.

Thank you for your tireless work making these videos, you were a major part in my waking up from my religious beliefs. I can't thank you enough for teaching me about biology and the real world.

Aron's way of presenting and relating even complex information makes it both entertaining and easy to comprehend.

I love Aron Ra. He just puts it down. You can pick it up, and accept it. Or just walk away.

I'm glad I found this. I've always wanted someone to explain taxonomy in a very longwinded, though informative way (over many episodes)
And I'm not being facetious. working 50 hour weeks can make it hard to find time to read about this stuff, so being able to relax and listen to this is awesome, thanks man.
now I shall binge from episode 1

12:31 Just FYI, Carl von Linné is pronounced with a “german” f on the von and a “french” é at the end, so the last name has two syllables, pretty much the same as the first two of three in “Linnaeus”.

Back in the day, when the sons of priests went to university at Upsala, they needed a “latin” surname, rather than a nordic patronymicon, and the family had a great linden tree in their front yard which people say gave the surname Linnaeus. Later, when Carl was knighted, he was given the more continental and modern sounding “von Linné”.

just fresh off watching the entire series. Thank you so much for your contribution to the laymen in search of a link to explain the entire lineage from the beginning of life to humans!
