BULLETPROOFING The Crank Hub In My S55 M3 - You WON’T Believe What We Found!

It was time to bulletproof this S55 so I can enjoy my ownership without any worry of spinning the crank hub. Took my m3 over to Auto Couture Motoring to get the full Gintani crank hub along with some downpipes, 1 step colder plugs, and an oil change. You WON’T believe what we found when the stock crank hub came out. Let’s just say, I am glad we replaced it.

Bro thank you so much, I am in central NJ, been wanting to get my f82's crank hub out of the way but have been having a hard time determining where to go for it. I am calling the Auto couture guys monday. Their reputation and price point is perfect. The on other guy i talked to was one of those "I'll do it cheaper" guys and he told me $3200. I'll gladly pay the extra $500 to have it done by the highly experienced professionals with an established good reputation shop. Thank you for this video, have fun with your car👍

Thats actually very fair for a reputable shop. If shops around me was similar I might go ahead and do mine lol

Agreed ACM is a very reputable shop. I live in NY and only bring my car to ACM to do any work to mine and it’s worth the drive

Wow! The cracked friction plate is crazy. Very lucky indeed.

Along with the parts you had swapped, I also had my valve cover swapped. No labor charge of course. Any reason you didn't do that preventative maintenance? Pretty easy DIY for later, but since they already had mine out, I figure why not.

If you plan on doing fueling upgrades, the dorch hpfp would be an easy while they’re in there for the crankhub. I’ll be having mine done together.

Did you do the crank bolt capture at the same time?

Funny enough, I was just watching Alex’s episodes on the evolution of Gintani. One thing he emphasized is that it’s pronounced with a hard G. (Just FYI).

What would you recommend as a good BMW to get as a first time BMW owner whose coming from a 2020 Si coupe. I’ve never owned a RWD car. The bmw would have to be manual cause I swear I can never go back to auto lol
