Internal Battery can fail and erase your data . So if it is too good to be true on older engines for example 10 years old and 5 hrs of engine time . it is because data was erased because boat battery failed . age is a factor in value of an engine . older engine will break down more for same usages because of age. Salt water engines last a lot less than fresh water boats . the engine can be connect to a computer to give you a 100 page report at mechanic shop if data has not been erased .
