Tailgate opening by itself. Here I show how to deactivate Mercedes remote key boot button on keyfob. Mercedes electric trunk can open by itself if the key is in the pocket even you are inside house ex. distance 50m from the car. It is enough that there is example wallet in the same pocket where the key is. I already experienced this issue, the trunk opened by itself even I was quite far away in the house with the Mercedes key in my pocket together with the wallet. Tailgate opens when press and hold is done for the key boot button. I have the Keyless-GO so don’t actually need this key tailgate button. Hope this DIY (do-it-yourself) is helpful.

Recently got an MB and the boot actuated unexpected shortly after receiving it, making me super conscious about key handling and what I had in the boot that I was going to offer passers by in an impromptu car boot sale. Used a slightly different form factor for the shim to you, which involved two ‘L’ shape cut outs. Stopping the top and bottom from rocking/depressing. Thanks again for the inspiration the hits about fob disassembly.

This seems a Extreme solution for a simple problem Mercedes allow you to turn off the key, Old Version Mercedes Key double Tap the lock red light will confirm key is disabled, Newer Mercedes Key, while pressing the Open doors button doble press the lock button, if the red light In the Key flashes it means the key is disabled until you press the unlock doors button
