Hello I am your host Rocco and our special guest today is Sean Davis.

You may have heard of Sean Davis before. He is the Xubuntu Technical Lead as well as being a core developer for Xfce and a maintainer for programs such as MenuLibre, Catfish and Parole Media Player and whole host of others as well. We talk about those things but the best part is learning about his Journey into Linux.

Another great show Rocco, and yes thanks Sean and XFCE team for your efforts, you guys do an amazing job! the first thing I did when trying the new XFCE 4.14 was trying GTK3 themes lol they look good :) People should be shocked to know you spend a lot of unpaid time contributing to an awesome desktop.

Thank you once again Rocco, love this series & appreciate your hard work.

Thank you Sean, I do love XFCE & Xubuntu :) and it's a great feat to have changed the plumbing, or moved to GTK+3 (4.14) and me not even notice the change (as a end-user)

Keep up the great work, it's appreciated - both of you.

Very nice. I too wanted to see this as soon as I saw who the guest was. Use openSUSE Tumbleweed XFCE on a 10 year old DELL Inspiron. No complaints and the 4.14 upgrade is absolutely fantastic. Another excellent Spotlight, Rocco.

Rocco, another great show. It's great to have Sean on. He's amazing and very talented and invests a lot of his time on XFCE. I love XFCE and use it mainly on MX Linux, currently on 19 Beta 2 with XFCE 4.14. I even enjoy taking a generic XFCE DE install and customizing it. Thank you Rocco and Sean.

Hi Sean, can I just say a big Thank You! Catfish is awesome - I use it all the time. It's one of the first tools I will install in any distro. It's an example of what great software looks like.

Nicely done. Its so fascinating to learn a bit about all the amazing people. It really brings to light how we are all the same even though we come from different historical backgrounds if you will. Thanks for a little insight Sean!

Great episode..loved this one, especially since I have been using xfce (mostly on Xubuntu) almost exclusively for the last 14 years or so.
I did have some small detours on other DEs but always circled back to xfce.
Hoped on to Xubuntu when they released their 5.10 version, and I instantly feel in love with xfce.

Just as a follow up regarding gaming. Proton does help push gaming along for Windows users looking to switch. But, a lot of the Linux community wants to see that native release. So there is always a dichotomy.
However, with Linux gaming moving forward. I agree, this will push the desktop market forward as well.

PS. Next to running MATE, I'm also an XFCE fan.

Roco the best interview EVER all because it was related to XFCE not KDE or GNOME or Plasma none of that nonsense as XFCE is all you need to hear about LOL...Roco keep on rocking with these interviews as you seem to be born for it have you ever consider a profession out of it and become a famous talk show host (hey Linux marketing right there) LOL :)

Rocco, the outro is just a bit loud compared to all other in the video. I like this spotlight series.
