That is a horrible flaw. Why doesn't the ammo come from below with about 10, 000 rounds and have manual loading as a back up.

the sad thing about this gun is its downtime because now they have developed missiles which multiple head split - so as it approaches the target it becomes 4 or 6 targets coming at you
and as the gun can take them out fast it is the second missile coming behind it that is the problem - the navy can engage multiple incoming targets but when they start splitting this is the issue - the only sure thing is is to have a second unite ready or take over but they have not updated their ships in the last 20 years - yes they have one aft and one forward of the ship but still not enough to deal with split head missiles - if anyone remembers WW2 when our ships had over 200 gunners on both sides of an aircraft carriers but it could not stop kamikaze in heavy numbers pouncing on the aircraft at once - we are back to the same scenario again
