Albert Mohler and the Gay Revolution

The purpose of this video is to evaluate the teaching of Dr Albert Mohler, president of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, on the subject of homosexuality. Mohler is encouraging the Church to embrace the issue of sexual orientation, a psychological concept that is entirely without biblical warrant. He accuses evangelicals of having lied about the nature of homosexuality and of practicing a form of homophobia. He fully supports the ministry of same-sex attracted Sam Allberry, a Church of England priest. His position is similar to that of the gay agenda, which seeks to normalize homosexuality in society and the Church.

I'm still waiting for Mohler to explain his comments that white supremacy is still a big problem in the church.

Stop listening to a compromised man and follow what God's word tells us.

So many people have Mohler up on a pedestal, and they will need to face the reality and remove him from that pedestal. Warning to Mohler: "I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to them, God shall add to him the plagues which are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the tree of life and from the holy city, which are written in this book." Rev. 22:18-19 Mohler is leading people astray.

Good grief, enough of this foolishness! Mr. Mohler, et. al., stop apologizing and asking forgiveness for all Evangelicals, you do not represent all of us! Stop with all the phobias and call sin SIN! Stop your fancy dancing with the philosophers of this age, repent! (Can you tell I'm disgusted, and I'm not the only one!)

Thank you for this information. Once again it seems that those who once was diligent to teach the Word of God are showing what is really in their heart. What bothers me more is that the Church is not bothered, not concerned regarding such contradiction of God's Word.. then again I also realize that many who say they are His are not.

Can’t this priest just be a celibate Christian who, when tempted with evil thoughts about men, just rebukes the thought as wicked? Why does he have to identify himself this way? Has anyone identified as a “Gossip” because they are tempted to repeat a story?

This is methodical and accurate. After watching "By What Standard?" and its inspiration, "Battle for the Minds", I found myself agreeing with the statements regarding Mohler given by the liberal theologians during the conservative resurgence of the 1990s. I find his stances to be those of an incisive bellwether for evangelical-culture rather than those of a biblically convicted leader. I believe it is no coincidence that as soon as his prior stance could face legal persecution by the surrounding culture (Obergefell v Hodges) it became subject to revision. Both he and J.D. Greer have given up the high ground in the postmodern sexuality battles as soon as the first shots were fired--regarding sexual orientation and trans pronouns, respectively.

Paul was ignorant? Mohler just accused God of not inspiring his writings.

Another wolf in sheep's clothing, (Al Mohler).
A mole that rots the church WITHIN

Al Mohler is a highly skilled politician who follows whichever wind of doctrine leads him into a position of power within the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC). In the 1990's, it was "conservatism, " and today it is "woke-ness." Put your finger to the "SBC-wind" and you'll know where Mohler stands.

Love that Jonathan Lehman “pretends” to have “questions” for Allberry. Lehman from the London School of Economics, the Fabian Socialist🤮

Around 22:40 you went out of your way to proof text and disagree with Mohler, only to then reverse and agree. Either you can erroneously say that Christians stop sinning when they are saved, or you can be honest and agree with what Mohler said

All Jesuit Priests, or temporal Coadjutors, trying to march Protestantism towards Rome. The outer court church - churches like Mohler's - will not be measured and, therefore, will not be a part of the holy city. These so called churches are given to the Gentiles (i.e. to the harlot church of Rome).
Rev 11:1  And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein.
Rev 11:2  But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.

Dr. Mohler's "doctrine" is contrary to Scripture, is not in Scripture, and is not Biblical theology: Quod non est Biblicum, non est theologicum.

I have just come across this video. I am in the UK. I know Sam and though, I havent kept in touch, I do wonder whether there is some mis-hearing both ways across the Atlantic. As I understand Sam, he believes same-sex activity is a sin and believes same-sex attraction is fallen and would also advocate putting those desires to death. The situation in the CofE is dire with many wanting same-sex blessings etc etc. Sam is wanting none of that. The standing ovation for Sam in the CofE General Synod was by no means universal but an appreciation by people opposed to the liberalising and destructive agenda of the gay lobby. I listen to the U.S podcast called Conversations that Matter and hear that there are various concerns about Mohler and Keller and some other TGC folk. I wonder, perhaps, is Sam being used or tarnished by some who may indeed be going woke. Some of us in the UK are certainly aware of what seem to be woke tendencies among some prominent US evangelicals. I would urge a reminder that the 'old man/ nature' in all of us is never converted. Yes, as Christians, the old nature is no longer in control (Roms. 8:7-14) but it is still present and all of us constantly need to put it to death. The wages of sin is death for all of us. Sin gives birth to sins and my sins arent necessarily anyone else's or theirs, mine - so we all need the church to help us all put to death our sins. If there is clumsy language from Sam, I suspect that is all it is and I hope, if it is pointed out to him, he would indeed give the re-assurances people desire.

So Sam, would it be a bad pastoral response to a racist, "we've go to make you non-racist?" Or, would it be a bad pastoral response to an anti-Gay person to say, "we need to make you stop being anti-Gay." This stuff is not just wrong and evil--its incoherence, contradictory, and finally stupid.

Your reading on Sam Allberry's comments at 34:30 are blatantly misconstruing what his actual point is, which is to say, the goal should not be to make a homosexual heterosexual, but to assist in putting those desires to death and to replace those sinful desires with a deep love and admiration for Christ. That of course doesn't mean the individual won't struggle with homosexual temptations, in the same way that a former porn addict can continue to struggle with a desire to look at it again, or a compulsive liar feels the temptation to give half-truths or obfuscate, really, just insert whatever sin you want here.

Putting to death our sins and improper desires is not a magic switch, but is part of the life-long road and transformation that is sanctification. At no point though, does Allberry state, "Yes, you can be homosexual and you should indulge and live out the desires of that lifestyle as well as follow Christ." Allberry's main point is quite the opposite--accept the sin [EDIT:acknowledge, not "accept" the sin would probably be a better word here for what I'm trying to convey) with which you are entangled with, and go to work putting it to death for the sake and love of Christ.

I also find it telling that there are some very obvious jump cuts and edits to that Allberry interview.
