Garcelle Beauvais Weighs in on Erika Jayne’s Quest for Empathy | WWHL

Garcelle Beauvais from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills says it was interesting to see Erika Jayne ask her therapist how to have empathy because Garcelle believes everyone is capable of feeling sensitivity towards others, especially for the people you’re closest to. Garcelle adds that she’s glad to see Erika working on herself and explains that she’s been on the defensive for so long that she doesn’t think Erika fully understands that one should have empathy for other people. Plus, Andy Cohen teases that there are a couple moments in the season where Garcelle is surprised by Erika’s reactions and Garcelle says she feels like Erika turned a corner.

Looking back on past seasons, Erika lost a lot of empathy when she allowed herself to become involved with the Rinna, Kyle Teddi group.

Not having empathy is a textbook sign of a narcissist. Erika asking her therapist how to "do that" was her most honest moment on the show. Here's a tip Erika, you start by selling the diamond earings and giving the money to the victims your husband stole from.

I didn’t buy it for one minute. That was someone acting (disingenuously) like the idea of empathy was a foreign notion to them (as in someone who is in the autism spectrum) It’s a grift to try and explain away her callous lack of empathy for the victims off who’s money she profited (either knowingly or unknowingly). The two are very different. She’s not quite as clever as she thinks she is, or maybe she’s just clever enough to dupe the majority of people who watch the show or are in it.

Narcissist don't have empathy. They can fake it, say the right things etc. but they don't truly feel empathy.

I honestly believe Erica has empathy but she is very detached from the softer sides of her emotions that and she seems to put up a wall believe if she really had zero empathy fr it would be very different at least in my opinion but I don’t think it’s a lack of empathy I think it’s not knowing how to handle empathy

Lisa is no saint not say Lenny is because he definitely is not but she played a part in this … she seems selfish and very materialistic she has always been a me me me person … watch her from the beginning… she is going to run this new guy off and I really believe she is with him cause he is financially stable and she thinks she is kicking it to Lenny. The scandal only broke in like 2020. Before then Erika was living the high life until the bubble burst, well into her adulthood. She hasn’t been on the defensive for “so long” that she couldn’t have learned to have empathy for people. Disappointed in Garcelle for going soft on this.

I’m glad Garcelle said what she said here cuz if she would brought up that situation with her son & Erika again…lord that whole thing is annoying af. She better have moved on from it.
