I’ve been told I’m next after Kirumira - Siraj Bakaleke

Former Kampala South Regional Police Commander Siraj Bakaleke has told NTV that his life is in danger after receiving information and threats that unknown people want to kill him. Speaking to NTV, Baleke said that three days after the burial of former Buyende DPC Mohammad Kirumira, someone told him that he is on the list of those targeted by taxme. The assistant Commissioner of police explained that this is the second time he is getting threats in less than three months.

By the way Police duty is NOT to protect the government.
Your duty is *PROTECTION AND SERVICE OF OF CITIZENS*
The moment you (Uganda Police) strayed from this and became partisan, you invited the problems you’re facing.
Army officers should NEVER have been used in the Police service their training and duties are completely different.
As it is at the moment the Police is rotten to the core with camps swearing allegiance to NRM, M7, Kayihura, individual commanders etc.
Let’s be honest, the NRM government has completely undermined and corrupted all the institutions in the country.
Things have never been this bad in the Police, not even during the regimes of Amin and Obote - The Police service remained dutifully independent from the army.
P.S Constitutionally, a serving soldier of any rank cannot serve in the Police in whatever capacity. Any one that does is guilty of impersonating a police officer, a punishable offence.
Wearing the Uganda Police uniform with or without insignia, ranks and markings is also illegal and a punishable offence under the laws of when one is not a serving police officer.
*In short, our country is a mess and we need to take it back- Back to basics!*
The existing institutions have lost direction, focus and are no longer fit for purpose.
They need to be disbanded and reformed from scratch with suitably qualified people.
