Another question, The Royal Marsden Manual of Clinical Nursing Procedures recommends NOT cleaning wounds unless indicated to remove debris, foreign bodies, excess exudate in infected wounds, to remove superficial devitalized tissue or residual dressing material or to provide patient comfort (don't get that one!). So if none of these indicators are present, should we verbalise that it is best clinical practice NOT to clean the wound?
Also, are we provided with a choice of dressings in the exam or just given one to apply? Should we study the different dressings and what their used for or is that advanced practice?

Thank you Hannah! I am luckily having you before my OSCE exam. In the update exam guidelines, candidates are no longer asked to follow the “Clean hand – dirty hand approach” in the ANTT station. May I know how to do to make it right? Is there any dressing pack come up with forceps or any other method? Thank you for your help.

In the ANTT procedure are we given an actual patient whose wound we are asked to dress? or is just a demonstration on how to create a sterile field? I really want to understand that part. Thanks
