In this video, I'll teach you the secrets of the Medgun, which can do a lot more than just basically HP! I see so many players with the medgun equipped messing about in their inventory to find the vial of stuff they need, or a stimpen to fix injuries, but the medgun can do all that automatically, and I'm going to show you how! Hey! As a quick follow up, could you in theory max the doses of all those other drugs in advanced mode and kill someone by maxing their blood toxicity? Could the Medgun be used as an impromptu weapon?

People had been ODing (killing) others is armistice zones using the advanced feature on the med gun, maxing out the dosage and applying it to others.
That's now why you can't use them in armistice areas.

Great tips on the proper use of this device. Bonus points for inventory management, as you can leave the stimpens at home or at least in ship inventory!

i told ppl about this yesterday in chat, so many ppl that have played for a while and didnt know this. i didnt know for a while, my son actually told me about it. Easy to aquire in bunkers as well, if youre broke

Auto mode minimizes toxicity, however if you manually increase the dosage afterwards, you can grant an extended period of ailment relief. This is important for missions requiring extended combat time so that you don’t randomly get a nerf to your citizen mid-fight.

As a full time medic, I clicked mainly on this to test if my knowledge is still up to date, even after training others, and I'm glad it is as although I already knew this, it is great that you're helping others learn about it, as it is a great way to relieve symptoms in yourself when you don't have a ship for instance with a medical bed, or if you have a long journey on foot to make after the injury

You can also prescribe medication to people who do not need any medication, I usually spike myself once in a while.

Once upon a time there was a service outage in SC, there were no ASOP terminals to get us airborne and we had hitched a ride. I spiked myself and then proceeded to drug my fellow pedestrians onboard the transport ship.

(they did not like it, but I had plausible deniability working in my favor)

Should be noted you do not want to give your patient more than 50% BDL (shown on the bottom of the gun) because if you do they'll experience negative symptoms like impaired movement or vision. You can use the detox pen to relieve some of that tho.

also should be noted that if you OD your patient they'll pass out again, this makes for a good weapon if you run out of ammo and can sneak up on them and get close enough to mess them up. Then you can simply use the tractor beam to "relocate" them to an airlock without armor and toss them out the window. Makes a great party game too... :)
