I include myself in this statement, not so sure how smart we are buying land that can’t produce anywhere near the profit per acre to cover the payment.

I grew by bundling it in with land I was able to get a good rental price on, then dollar cost averaging the mortgage and rents over all my acres. Rents have gone from $200-250 to $400-500 in 1 year in N Central IL. Your not renting from the farmers widow or kids anymore. It’s cut throat people across a boardroom table, not you and Mrs. Farmer at her kitchen table. I just gave up and made some big buys. It’s not that much more, and I’ll own it outright in 10 years. Just going to have to make it work.
