2018 Honda Civic Si - The Civic you SHOULD buy

The 10th Generation Honda Civic comes in five different versions. I've driven the sedan, coupe, hatchback, the Type R and finally the Civic Si. This would defiantly be the Civic that I would get. You have 4 doors for practicality, the performance, and the looks and a reasonable price.

For those complaining about the lack of volume knob, there is are a set of physical volume buttons on the steering wheel. I always use them.

"But now (with) the Type R around, is there still room for the SI?"

Just bought one this week, best car I have ever owned by a long shot. I've driven old si's with VTEC and I always felt a little disappointed with them. But the turbo in this one makes a world of difference! If you're prepared to buy a new car and you're interested in this one; take it for a test drive. You will not regret it.

I own a 2017 Si in Black.

Really love the car and want to drive it ALL the time.

volume knob on the steering wheel. Why reach all the way over to the stereo and be distracted?

There is always room for the SI. I always found the Type R to be a track focused vehicle, designed for a better lap time, not a daily driver.

The SI is one you get if you want a Type R but also want the practicality of a standard Civic.

Lucky Canadians get standard LEDs. Not sure why those sold in the US get stuck with projectors. I noticed the headlights changed back and forth with the different clips you used.

Got the same one in blue back in may, LOVE IT. Its nothing like my old 8th gen Si, its basically a new car with an Si badge.

Drove a SI last week and what a great car for $25K. Finally Honda put a normal looking dash. No more two tiered funny looking dashes. It's weird with out a volume button but the Lane watch is cool. I use those convex mirrors on all my cars. My first car was a 1989 CRX Si. Back when Honda made fun cars. Thankfully they are doing that again.

Why do y'all get the LED headlamps and we get the halogens??

Had a Civic Hatch as a loaner. Wishing the Si came in hatch form because it looks way better than the sedan/coupe

Glad I found you... what a great review. I actually checked out a few of yours, and enjoyed them. Thanks for all of the info.

I have a 2018 si. The main problem I have with it is the transmission is so clunky and unsmooth. Also it usually takes more than one try to get it into reverse gear. Do you think I need a clutch adjustment?

Do Canadian models have same emissions as USA? If so I might drive to get one just for the lights lol

Regarding lack of volume knob, we have a '17 CR-V and while it does have a volume knob, it also has the same volume rocker switch that the Si appears to have. If it works the same way as the CR-V, you can slide your thumb up and down the that switch to raise or lower the volume. You can also push on the switch to change the volume of course. So, to lower the volume quickly, all you have to do is slide your thumb down the face of the rocker switch. The volume lowers quickly and easily. He mentions a 2-step process for muting, but it's actually quite quick and easy if you use the switch on the steering wheel.

Very nice review. Glad to see more Canadian car content on YouTube. I just wish you would've used only the Canadian Si model for the video, because otherwise people may get the impression that the Si comes with optional LED low beams. Only in Canada does the Si have LED low beams. In the States, it comes with halogen projectors. In some of your shots you got Canadian front end of the car, while in others, you have the generic US shots with halogen headlamps.
