Soundear Pro Review - Ultimate Ear Protection with perfect sound!

The Soundear Pro takes all the excellent quality of Ultimate Ear Protections' silicone custom-moulded ear plugs and adds high-quality speakers into the mix. This means you still get protection from harmful noise, but you also get excellent quality audio from your Bluetooth comms or any other compatible device. It also means you can turn the volume down and still hear it perfectly! In this video, I take you through the product and how to connect it to both Cardo and Sena systems.

A big thanks to my channel partners for their support;

I've spoken with the guys at Ultimate who have informed me that they can and do indeed offer conversions for certain comms units. The Schuberth SC2 has been difficult to do apparently, but the SRL and SRL2 can be done quite easily for them. Drop them an e-mail with the device you have and they will let you know if they can convert the cable for you.

Absolute game changer. Been using in ear monitors for 4 years. Kills wind fatigue, and removes the harmful frequencies that damage your ears. Side benefit is comms and music is only required to be a 25%…… soft ears and speakers in a helmet are so 2010 lol.
Ride free guys and gals. ✌🏻🇦🇺

Another timely video for me, thanks. Recently fitted Bluetooth comms for receiving phone calls and have had to crank the volume to hear through wind noise and basic foam ear plugs. Can't quite justify the top end with speakers but used your code and bought the filtered ones. Hopefully that will allow me to hear calls better and still cut the awful wind noise from tallrounder screen. Cheers. And by the way my basic Sena 10S also has a 3.5 jack socket.

I have a pair made by a different company - honestly wish I'd gone with Ultimate Ear.

Whichever brand you buy, though, it's very worthwhile adding a couple of layers of heat shrink tube to the plug and first couple of inches of flylead from the earbuds and the comms unit itself just to protect that part of the cable that's prone to internal breaks.

I’ve had numerous other brands ands Ultimate Ear has by far been the best. In fit, sound and quality.
If fitted correctly I don’t understand if people have issues with them feeling pressure from helmet.
Great product and that is a great discount. I’ll be getting a pair when I get back to the U.K.

I ordered a set of these from their stall at the Edinburgh bike show back in March and have been very happy with them. Far superior sound for the intercom and sat nav. I don’t use the phone if I can help it or listen to music on the bike but I’m sure they would be great there as well. I was already a customer as I have had 2 previous pairs from Ultimate Ears and paid about £170 I think. I have a Cardo Freecom 2 intercom and removed the speakers from the helmet and just use these now and got the short cable.

I have a Schuberth SC2 and it was easy, there is a Sena speaker to Jack port adapter out there that works fine, was about £13
As for the product, it's brilliant, just buy it if you're uncdecided- I wish I'd done it years ago!

Have been thinking about these for a while, although I wonder if it’s possible to use an AUX to bluetooth adapter in the 3.5mm jack on the Cardo Packtalk, and have that transmit to a set of the bluetooth headphones. Would make it really handy if you were getting off the bike for a few minutes and wouldn’t have to take the ear plugs out. And of course, can use them for other things too.

Could you elaborate about the gel? Do you need to put gel on the earplugs before each use? How is gel prevented from being collected inside the ear? How long one gel tube lasts? How much it costs to buy another one?

I've just emailed them to ask if they can add filters to them. I have a set of these and custom fits version with the filter, and UE win everywhere except the filter

I have 2 pairs of their custom fit plugs. I find the fully moulded ones move too much when I put my helmet on so I’m guessing these would be the same, but their cut-down ‘sleep’ plugs fit much better. They work well with my SRL-2 system in my GT Air 2 lid.

I have these and in general work well- but I had to send back as the left kept losing sound intermittently. It was fixed but doing it again. Seems to happen after I've been using them for a couple of hours.

I tried similar ones but had issues with pressure from the helmet cushions onto the earbuds. I guess my ears aren’t compatible.

I've had problems in the past with earplugs getting dislodged when putting on the helmet. Do these stick out from your ear much?

Hi, Sena also provides splitters to use earphones in stead of the standard speaker. I’m using a similar setup with my Sena 10R. Just google “sena splitter speakers”

Do these have a filter inside of them or do they just block sound?

I have some custom iem for drumming, the issue is they block too much where you can’t hear ambient noises.
