Here you will learn in detail what the photoelectric effect is all about. First, we'll look at how the experiment is set up, then we'll move on to photons and photon energy. Then we will send a photon towards a metal plate to release an electron from it. Here you will learn about work function and cutoff frequency and how to calculate them. Using two examples of work function, we will convert electron volts to joules and vice versa.

The ejected electron has kinetic energy. We take this into account when deriving the Einstein formula with the help of the conservation of energy. Afterwards, we use the stopping voltage to rewrite the Einstein formula.

At the end, we illustrate the statement of the photoelectric effect with a graph. From this graph you can determine the value of Planck's constant.

What a great video and nice way of explaining the Photovoltaic effect.
It would be nice to see the same concept with Piezo and Pyroelectric effect.

I usually use "E" for "Energy", but now that I've seen your video with "W", I'm calling it "Wenergy!"

Which one is anode and cathode in it???

With current understanding of wave properties of electrons, not simply solid particles, this probably could be explained with resonance phenomenon.
Too bad everyone seems to simply accept and satisfied with it.

How is it that an electron is 2000 times smaller than a proton, and yet they have identical charges? How can that be?

It might be better if red collar used for negative charges and blue for positive charges 😀😀 only an opinion
