Honestly the chase went on long enough but even if there were just a venator in the background as he jumps to hyper space would have been great.

Not only does concept art not indicate that this was ever planned to be a part of the scene, but even if it were, it really wouldn't change much.

Bruh if it’s on a concept art doesn’t mean it was ever in the script or was deleted, please don’t present your speculations as facts

If a venator had shown up, it would have really stretched the plausibility of them escaping.

While a little overkill, I think the Venator would had actually fitted very well sitting on Coruscant's orbit. Remember all of this occured just days after the battle of Coruscant, and while most of the Republic's/Empire's assets where allocated toward the outer rim sieges, after a battle of that magnitude it would be very odd to leave the planet undefended. That and also I think it would have made sense to precisely intercept any fleeing or incoming Jedi. Then again, the scene was great in itself, would just have been some additional eye candy in the end

I think this might be one of new favorite scenes from the Mandalorian not just because it is set right after the clone wars I am just happy to see some prequel ships in live action again

Always nice to see a Venator but I'm glad they finally told the tale of Grogu escaping. All the speculation about who saved him never was complete enough. We needed to see how he got off world as Order 66 unfolded.

anyone else notice the circuits inside the new piece of armor the armorer made grogu

what we got was good but i am unsure if the venator would have been too much, i saw that art in the end credits and honestly wasn't sure how i felt about it

Even if it was a missed opportunity, I'm glad that the writers didn't just throw it in for the sake of fan service. I like that the Mandalorian is OK with being original rather than just putting cool things from the different eras just for the sake of making scenes "cooler".

Eck: "Imagine if we could see Venators in live-action!"

Revange of the Siths and Attack of the Clones: "Are we a joke to you?"

I think it was scrapped because it’s an entire new asset that would have to be made. It probably was cut to finish other episodes

It would have been a fun addition. But the best concept art that didn't make it into the episode was the low-angle "giant" Grogu chasing those rock crab guys into the ocean.

I was happy with what we got. Amazing scene and Kellerin beq is a bad ass

I loved all the clone wars vehicles. BARC Speeders and LAATs. More clones, 501st and coruscant guard alike. As a clone wars fan, this made me happy

As much as I love Venator and seeing it again would be amazing...I am already happy enough for what we got....we had LAAT back with all the sounds and they looked great, I am not sure if the VFX team would have to go any re-do Venator into higher quality model again which would cost them time and money for 10 seconds scene....and if they dont plan on using it again any time soon (who knows how Disney is about prequel scenes) then yea I very much understand why it was a cool idea but wasnt executed because of reasonable reasons

If they added the Venator it wouldn't of been just fan service but made the whole order 66 feel that much more helpless and sad

wouldve made sense that they would have had at least one venetor between the planet and each hyperspace jump point to prevent escape. a little blockade run wouldn't have felt out-of-place, and would have demonstrated his pilot skills. still, the vfx dept was probably overwhelmed, and something had to go, so this is fine as is.

My guess is that the archived Venator from Revenge of the Sith just wasn't detailed enough for 4K CGI and that using it at a distance to hide that lack of detail would have looked silly.

I was actually more thinking the more we see of the Purge of the Jedi Temple, obviously we get tons of 501st Legion Clones vs Jedi... but really, we need more pre suit Knightfall Anakin killing Jedi. While it would of course be super awesome to get Hayden back and a full set piece scene filmed, for a scene like these flashbacks, a vague hooded/cloaked figure in the background wielding his lightsaber against other Jedi, just detailed enough to be obvious would still be epic. I mean Vader was supposed to have hunted down and killed all (well a bunch at least) the Jedi, but we really don't get to see much of that on film/tv, and an Order 66, Jedi Temple purge where we KNOW Anakin Vader was present doing exactly that... would have been the perfect place for this sort of background visual
