For anyone wondering, that guy forgot to lay their knee in the ground, it is really important in case if the grenade is so close or bump back, so that's why that drill sergeant push him to the ground.

For those who don't understand you are trained to take a knee back under cover and never watch a grenade go off as you can still be in the potential shrapnel range.

This happens in the USMC as well only they have a nice trench to throw your ass in if you drop the grenade. (Which happens way to often)
