They should've called it "ID Confirmation". That way it'd be clearer that its sole purpose was to make sure that an account was being used by the person they claimed to be.

It's funny how people get mad that a company treats them differently on their platform. They could delete you if they want you know, they don't have to give you a reason. Feel free to make your own internet platform.

I assumed that being verified meant that I was receiving a tweet from an authentic person, celebrity, or elected official! Nothing more.
