Panathenaic Stadium
The stadium was built in 329 BC by the governor and rhetorician Lykourgos to venue the Panathenaic games (the biggest athletic celebration in ancient Athens) in honor of Goddess Athena. In 1896 the stadium was refurbished as part for the first modern Olympic Games.
Zappeio
The building was financed by Evangelos Zappas and designed by Theophilos Hansen specifically for the revival of the Olympic Games and its situated at the National Garden. This Neoclassical Hall is now used for exhibitions and ceremonies.
