The Princess of Wales is NOT Kate Middleton, she is HRH Catherine, Princess of Wales. Her preference for her name is Catherine and she has been married since 2011. She hasn't been a Middleton since then.

As an American, living on American soil, (as Harry and Meghan left the UK and BRF to live in California) she is qualified to vote in American elections for American politicians, including the American President therefore, Meghan has forfeited her position as a British Royal. The UK nor the BRF have NO jurisdiction over the USA and therefore, Meghan as a former British Royal, her foreign royal status has no jurisdiction and her royal titles have no legal status within the USA. In the USA, Meghan has NO royal obligations, because there is no royalty within the USA. And as Americans, we have no obligation to use her former, foreign royal titles as she is now an American private citizen within the USA. In other words, Harry and Meghan can't have it both ways. -- BTW, since she does live in the UK and is a British princess, and a dedicated working member of the British Royal Family, her name is Catherine, Princess of Wales.

Just so you know, it's disrespectful to refer to the Princess of Wales as Kate. Her name is Catherine, both she and the Queen have repeatedly asked for her to be called Catherine.

Catherine was actually invited to Sandringham before any ring was on the cards. She politely declined the invitation, despite it being unheard of, she didn't feel it was the right thing to do without at least being engaged. Not only is that good manners, but imagine the fuss if she'd gone, she was literally hounded by paps every time she left her house, that would get worse, then imagine they broke up. She'd one day have to watch someone else go you somewhere special that she once went, so there's self preservation too think of too.

Please do try and get her name right, it just alienates people. She's either Catherine Princess of Wales, the Princess of Wales or Catherine.

Calling her Kate is disrespectful and calling her Kate Middleton is considered incredibly rude. Just so you know.
