Operations at Dubai International Airport were temporarily suspended for 25 minutes on Tuesday, as intense storms took hold in the emirate.

A yellow warning is in place for the rest of the country, including Abu Dhabi, meaning residents are urged to be aware.

Recently visited Dubai. Absolute marvel, a miracle in the desert. Incredible feat of what man can achieve. Every square foot built screams ' affluence '. Spic and span, stunning views. They import the best food from world over. Authentic cuisine from every nook and corner of the globe is available here. People who reside here take absolute pride in being able to do so, even those who haven't contributed to anything that actually made the country what it is. Zero crime. No cops in uniforms seen anywhere. They're in civil clothing and blend with crowds. Noone misbehaves, screams and shouts in public places, spits or litters. Law and its enforcement is no nonsense and taken very seriously by public. The same public that turns into hooligans and unruly uncivilized beings when they leave the place. Amazing. Too good to be true. I kept thinking all the while. Is all this sustainable? God only knows. It is truly unbelievable though.
