He he he! I love the way Kaikai is detailing Mt Kenya politics (Pyramid arrangement) while simultaneously IGNORING history - where was that pyramid decision making process in '92 (Kibaki vs Matiba) and 2002 (Kibaki vs Uhuru)?
On another note, the Sagana meeting only bought the MCAs if the two recent by elections and the reception of the High Court ruling is anything to go by.

You are very wrong, Guys common man in mt Kenya is the one who gives the direction of politics, there is a big elaborate discussion that go round and round immediately after elections, for lat five years we have had a debate down here, that is the same from Meru to kiambu, Nyeri to Nairobi, Nakuru to Nyandarua, we have decided and the Mood down here is that, like we voted for kibaki in 2003, and for uhuru 2013, 2022 things seem to favor Ruto

stop wasting time and money on mount kenya non mount kenya analysts. A) RAO has received more votes than kibaki and Uhuru combined, but they were still inconsequential. B) Uhuru could not garner 10% votes in Gatundu in 1997, when dogs in gatundu were being dressed in Uhuru campaign tshirts. C) Kibaki was a paid Nyayo spoiler and a vote splitter (Nyeri/ other politics). And D) nobody tells MOUNT KENYA HOW TO VOTE. E) they need a common enemy to mobilise against, an enemy against their way of life, business environment, national diffusion, tenure of existing jobs and land etc. F) they are divided, more than you would think. Non of the counties can see eye to eye, even in terms of marriage alliances. G) They lost forebears in the liberation struggle and their land to boot. Payback has not happened circa 60 years later. H) Which means it is about the big picture - The House and its sustainability.
They vote for the House and Party, and this has been unanimous other than for the kibaki spoiler moment.
It does not matter what the so called elders say! if there is no mt kenya DP candidate, mt kenya will not vote since there is no natural leader and no obvious enemy to mobilise against. This may look stupid but consider that 10 years is not enough to finish/defeat the House. 10 years hence, tutakutana kwa debe. and believe me tutakuwa huko ndani for another 20 years.
Try modelling all these at an individual level and if you manage, you will be a $ billionaire.
